Macleania insignis

Mart. & Gal. Ericaceae.  BLM 0628.  Native from Mexico to Guatemala in the eastern sierra cloud forests.  Epiphytic and terrestrial and grows large above-ground tubers. 
Very attractive as a caudiciform and especially so when in flower (bright pink).  Likes cool (50-80 deg. F) conditions and filtered light. 
We grow it under the greenhouse benches.  Perhaps the first time in cultivation.  Shipped potted.
